I get the same every now and then with "restless leg". All of a sudden a leg will jump around once or twice. Google "Dr Oz",there's everything there on his website. Lay off coffee for a while, drink plenty of water, lay off the salt, eat plenty of broccoli and spinach. And pat the dog!

Hi Jab160
Cramps can be very painful. I also suffer from them and so I find to drink some tonic water helps. Not all the time just so often have a couple of glasses. Can't do any harm, taste is good and as I said I find it helps. I was on a jury case for almost 4 months a few years ago and all the sitting around started the cramping, but with the Tonic water it was eased quite a lot. Now just in the feet sometimes - hit the tonic water and presto - no cramps for quite a while. Good luck.

One cause of leg cramps is supposedly from lack of potassium. My dad used to have a banana for supper. Missus takes cramp-eze.

A Quinine Tab (Quinbisul) works for me. Swallow one when the cramp grabs me then I don't get another attack for months.
Your Doc should prescribe them if you ask.
Cheers Neil

Apparently magnesium works for cramps, and restless legs - worth a try - fluid magnesia, available from pharmacy - old fashioned remedies are sometimes the best. As for the tonic water, it has quinine in it, I think, which they give you for malaria, maybe that is the ingredient that works for cramps etc.

Best remedy for me is, put a wine cork in your bed, near your feet so you don't roll on it. Seriously it works.
And you could try soaking your feet in Epsom Salts, lovely lovely!

Cramps. First thing I would do is get my blood sugar level tested For diabetes.
Restless legs, remember the fizzy drink Salvital? While not the healthiest drink worth trying once in the morning once at night for a short while.

I used to get the restless legs also called electric legs I would take an iron tablet and within minuets I would be asleep worked amazingly fast for me anyway but since having two blood clots some years ago I can't take iron tabs because they are a blood thickener so have had to put up with them not on rat poison anymore as I use cinnamon on my breakfast as it is a natural blood thinner haven't had many since may be just coincidence though
Just my experience

My left leg lives in a constant state of cramp varying from mild to intence, with the intence cramps lasting for several days. Quinbisal is the only thing that works for me, but I can only take them max 4 times a month due to the high doseage. So, I have to be climbing through the roof before I can take them.

I sympathise with you. I get get them now and then and they are like a knife twisting in my thighs and shins. I find walking around barefoot on cold tiles seems to quicken the relief somewhat. Magnesium is good I just forget to take it when I don't get them for a while
Just heard this stuff advertised yesterday so I might give it a go and see if it works ok
