Something strange happenin, I was just subscribed to this forum. I thought I may have done it inadvertently, but the Subscribe button should have changed to Unsubscribe

Click on your name on the top right hand corner.
Now scroll down the list of Settings etc down the left hand side until you come to subscriptions. Click on that and turn off.

I don't think anyone did anything wrong John, they have subscibed to a topic by the sound of things and more than likely flooded with emails informing them someone has commented on that thread. That's how I read the question anyway.
As has been said already just go into your profile and click on "un subscribe" and that will sort all that out.

We once subscribed to a thread on another Forum. Woke up the next morning & checked our emails. We had over 100 of 'em all related to us subscribing to that thread! Took us a while to empty our inbox & then deleted items LOL.
Easy thing to do.
