Have done a "search" but am wondering what brands of extra fuel filters people have fitted successfully. Caravan mags advertise one from "DieselCare" which includes the filter plus the extras to fit it and for each specific make of vehicle. Can anyone help out here?
Thank you
Kim

Both Repco & Supercheap do a second filter kit, cost around a hundred bucks to fit one to the Hilux after water in the fuel cost me a pump & injectors, quoted 9 grand by Toyota, four & half grand at my local Repco service centre.
Second filter with water float thermistor to activate the light is cheap insurance.

if you have a crd you can create problems with to much filtration(blockage restricted flow) due to low fuel pressure on the high pressure side of the original filter some have stated that a water separator pre filter could be the safest option
similar to the water watch one but expensive compared to the cheap ones

Hilux is CRD & filtration is on the low pressure side/tank pick up, same as my Triton. Havent seen any filters on the "high pressure" side in my travels, the second filter kits would be unsuitable on that side as there not designed for high pressure. I prefer to strain out the crap before it gets to the pump to stop pump damage.
A good quality filter wouldn't cause restriction unless its blocked & in the case of the Bitsa****te Triton it causes a very notable surge when the filter is contaminated/blocked.

when I mentioned high pressure side I was referring to the high pressure side of the original filter before it goes into the high pressure pump not the tank side starving the high pressure pump I 'm led the believe can be costly
is there two fuel pumps one low pressure to prime filter an one high pressure crd pump if you drain water trap you open drain turn ignition on to pump sediment out switch off close drain(low pressure side)

Thanks all. I think the result is to definitely fit a 2nd filter but to make sure it does not restrict pressure??

you need a pre filter water separator that gives at least 60 lt an hour flow check out western filters online
