My wife and I intend flying from UK into Perth and plan to spend 6wks travelling from Perth to Gold Coast via WA NT and into QLD via Cairns. Any advise on when to travel, routes, camping grounds, hiring info (camper van), plus any general advise would be v welcome. Frequent visitor to Oz, but never done anything like this before.
Cheers Stuart

Welcome to the gang Stuart, enjoy here and the OZ playground.
The OZ Winter is probably the best time for your jouney as Summer up the top is the wet season.
If you have a Smart Phone, get yourself the "Wikicamps" App. Invaluable for your jouney. It is also available for Windows8 I believe.
Keep Safe out there.

Do you realise the distance you will be covering? London to Moscow is around 3,000 km. The route you are proposing is nearly 9,000 km. That means you will be driving the equivalent to a round trip to Moscow and then back to Moscow again. This will give you little time for sight seeing. You may consider an alternate shorter trip.
