They say the only silly question is the one you didn't ask. At the risk of being nonsensical and showing a low level of knowledge, can some of you experienced people tell me this. When rolling out the awning (on our pop-top), I wish to attach the anti-flap arms at either end to stop of awning roof flapping in the wind. Do I need to have the awning fully extended to fit these arms? My problem is (and maybe it is common to everyone, and a ladder is the only answer?) that with the top popped, I cannot reach to attach the arms to the latch on the caravan roof, nor to clip (or clamp) the awning roof edge to the arms. In reverse, if I correctly clipped or clamped the awning roof's edge, I would have the same problem. Would I?? Is the only way to achieve this is to carry a ladder with us?? I have never used the anti-flap arms but have experienced reasonably strong wind that saw me lower the awning.

Hi kev I made my own anti flap bars so I probably won't help you , however I did bye one that lasted only minutes at greens before it broke. The one I purchased was adjustable in length and came with brackets that just screwed onto the frame, quite quick and easy to connect and you could attach from the ground. Hope it helps.

Hi Kev,we travel in a longreach so we have to carry a 6foot ladder with us otherwise we can't put our de flappers up.My legs are too short LOL

Hi Kev,
We have a pop top caravan ( even if I had a full caravan) we carry a fold up step ladder (3 steps) we purchased from the green shed sub $40 we carry it all the time, would not leave home with out it, such a useful item lives in the front boot, pride of place.
It get used regularly for all kinds of things like standing our wine on when we are relaxing, no really it has lots of uses. Cleaning the exterior, attaching the anti flaps, extra seat, the list goes on.
Have we got you thinging it would be a good idea. Ralph.
And yes you do need the awning right out to attach the anti flaps to do it right.
