No "Drop bears" in WA at all, an eastern states thing.
Plenty of other dangers out there though, stupidity being the biggest danger!!

We all do stupid things from time to time.
eg.
I used to love walking alone in remote areas .... A fantastic solitary walk comes to mind ..... around the lake on the Southern end of the Cape Range Nat Park near Exmouth while my traveling companions rested and dined on prawns & chilled white wine at the nearby shady picnic area.
But then I used to go pig hunting alone with only my dog & a big knife (sometimes with an old wartime .45 auto handgun). What an adrenalin rush when you put up a big pig! It took some grit to lift the pig's back leg, with the dog hanging on to the diagonally opposite ear & dispatch the pig with the knife to the jugular, or tying the legs off with some bailing twine, hoping that the dog didn't let go .... or to use the .45 without shooting the dog! Another issue was keeping the dog off the really big Captain Cookers.
While looking after a friend's cattle property, we used to ride his country race horses (he wanted us to ride a bit of grass off them before going back into training), chasing roos along the roughly cleared scrub alongside the wire netting roo fences, thru melon holes and dodging the saplings cut off at about 1.5m. The idea was to slip off a stirrup leather & dong the roos as we went past. Can't ever remember being successful but fell off lots of times ... with no help within 20km or so! We were at far more risk than the roos.

I often still think I can do stuff like that these days but its only moments later that I realise that the mind iss stil young but the body sure as hell aint, oh it hurts so much. These days I still walk in very isolated areas but carry an epirb and sat ph.
