Just got our registration renewal for the caravan in NSW. Would you believe $691, which is made up of $63 registration and $628 tax. How can you justify that? If you are not on the road full-time and work full-time that means on average you may take your van out 4 weeks of the year that works our to just under $173 per week. Where does this $628 tax come from? I did not realise that a 3t caravan driver 4 times a year caused that much chaos to warrant such high taxes. Vic is only $55, Qld is only $188, South Australia is only $92, Western Australia is only $170 by my calculations.
Guess Mike Baird wants to get rich quickly.

Man, that's a lot... SA may be backward in a few ways but jeeezzzz we have cheap rego, and discount for seniors/pensioners. Plus NSW get the benefit of an inspection. Someone is getting rich and it aint us..
Take it easy Larry.

I have posted this info before....
We have a golf buggy and it costs $210 Rego and our Van $188 Reg. The buggy in a restricted Registration compared to the van.
Go figure that one.
Once again I feel for the NSW folks. You coped a hiding on Wednesday night and now the Gov. id make life uncomfortable you you.
I think I will stick to Maroons.
By the way... is there any chance you can have you van registered in Queensland or one of the other States and live and garage it in NSW???
Could save you heaps.
