We're in small CP surrounded by very large gum trees overhead in Berwick with is SE Melbourne.
Most of us took our awnings down on Sunday and at the nearby Sunday markets, some tent tops were blown away, ripped apart or collapsed with the wind.
Monday was gusty, but last night was the pits. Very strong gusts and a little rain.
The sky is a watery looking blue today (will no doubt cloud over later - 10.30am) and still a little wind, but it has clamed down -so far !!
No-one in the CP had a tree branch on their vehicles - but plenty of bloody gum nuts on 'van roofs to wake you up with a start

Thanks bigB, that wind must have pushed that rain up to here in Tropical Townsville QLD, bugga. Not cold though, low 20's and rising.
Hold on mate cos those arctic winds down there can be pretty blowy and cold as.

Dougee - youre right about it being cold as........I thought all the males round town were - well, you know - of the other persuasion, till I realized what the freezing wind does to a males anatomy. Now I know Vic males aren't sopranos - and no doubt theres plenty of tenors and baritones in the warm weather LOL

woo hoo !!!!
Today the sky was blue and the sun stayed out all day - still cool and washing still dried in dryer, but a pleasant change - freeeeeeezing nights - I normally sleep, um, raw (yeah, a bloody horrible sight no doubt) but here in Melb wearing a thermal top, bed socks (old lady stuff) 5 blankets and sometimes a doona on top of that. Get up at 7am and 1st job (after the usual geriatric one), is to turn jug on for a cuppa and then the heater !
Gday...
