Plodnalong spent almost 3 years on the road in Australia between April 2012 and Jan 2015, mostly with his Plodnalong Patrol and an old 15ft Chesney caravan. Some of you will have seen him round and about. He worked mainly picking fruit and on grain receival sites between Qld and Vic though he did have a great trip up the centre to Darwin and back across the Barkley highway to Qld. Since Jan this year he has been back in NZ teaching Physics to high school kids in Kerikeri in the far north of the north island.
I am he and I intend to be back in Australia from late December this year, hopefully starting at the Woodford Folk Festival in Qld after picking up my van from my mate John's place near Toowoomba, then heading south to Cobram in Vic to work the fruit again early next year.
My ambitions are WA and TAS in the next few years.
A life on the road beats the pants off teaching high school.
I look forward to meeting some of you on the road at the end of the year.
Andy

P.s. He also had a great (?) time last year at the Birdsville races working for the company that put out and serviced all the portaloos. He never saw a race but he sucked a lot of s""t and earned a heap of dollars. And he stopped biting his nails ....

I remember you - if you are going to be in Cobram, head down to Greens Lake (50k south of Echuca) - say g'day to some Grey Nomads who use the lake as their summer home - look for GN stickers on vehicles or vans - you are sure to meet some good characters there.
