At last! started the trip today. I've taken Solo Steve's advice and stopped at Jerry's Plains for the first night as I have a female solo friend following, who I think is not to well, so easy distances bewteen stops on this trip. Great spot too, I might add Steve.
Making for Binnaway tomorrow for a day or two, if she feels ok, then on to Gunnadah, Narrabri, Burren Junction, Lightning Ridge. I would still like to head for Burke and Will's Dig Tree, will see how things go. Thanks Steve for sending me to Jcar for tv and laptop 12v leads and have the checking of the battery down pat now.
Catch you on the road sometime.

Can recommend the Opal Caravan Park in Lightning Ridge - if you are using caravan parks. The Opal is excellent. But, when you are closer and can work out when you will be getting there, phone and book. The park is very popular and there have been some days in May when all their 98 powered sites were full and people were missing out.

The annual Gem Festival is on in Lightning Ridge on 28th July - will be packed out then! Great time to be had though!

Thank you Helen I was pleased to help. It is unfortunate that your companion is not well, I know that you both have been looking forward to this trip. Knowing your resilience and tenacity no doubt you will work around it. Have a safe and enjoyable journey.
