How are the shower taps generally held on ? Is it just the tap cover ? The shower connection has come lose . I need to replace it . I'm not well designed for these tight areas .. Fitting new shower hose is easy they said !! Sheesh .

On the underneath side there is a little plug just flip it out with a screwdriver and then use a small Ellen key to get the grub screw out

Mmm - I have the same sort of problem. The screw-on bit under the "H" plastic cap wont screw tight around the spindle so now the whole handle comes off. Have bought a new complete tap assembly but havent been game to install it yet - and plumbers hard to get.... Need to replace the spindle I think. Cold tap is OK so far.

Go onto Youtube and type in something like "mixer tap repair" and you will get a video showing how to repair the offending item. I use it for heaps of items ( I am the worlds worst handyman).

I have sorted mine. The tap unit I bought has a slightly different spindle thing inside the wall so couldnt use it - BUT - the little screw end on the tap fits on the old spindle so have used that. Now have 2 taps spare minus one "HOT' screw cap!
Woked out that turning the pump off and turning the sink tap on meant no water squirting out also! I guess that is why there is no isolating tap on the water line????

Here's a photo . Yes off to YouTube .. I not bad at maintenance .. A socket set , screwdriver and a pair of pliers isn't going to fix this.. everything works except shower outlet is broken or leaks .. Now the minister of the house can't find the new one !! Sheesh! We are home now ..
