Nice to hear the ACCC is now involved, though I sometimes wonder about their powers.

the present Commissioner for the ACCC has become much more aggressive with retailers and not complying with the various consumer laws. Prior to his appointment, Coles and Woolworths had not been prosecuted. From memory under the current boss - both have fronted Court twice now. The only problem is the fines imposed are less than 30 mins of those companies worth of trading and they still continue to to thumb their nose at consumer protection in their quest for bigger profits and poorer and misleading products.
We badly need lemon laws similar to those they've had for many years in the USA

Sad that the parent company can destroy the reputation of a vehicle. I'm a very happy Jeep owner, beautiful vehicle to drive, great for towing. But how I wish it had been distributed by another company. For 18 months all Grand Cherokee Overland owners had a problem with the GPS. It was only a court case that finally made the company acknowledge the problem. Even the dealers were kept in the dark. Disgusting treatment for customers who've paid 80 grand. So I now I tend to believe all the stories I hear.
I applaud those folk who keep criticizing. I've been interviewed by the ACCC and they promise to act as far as the legislation allows. Maybe. Sooner or later public pressure will give some authority the teeth they need.

Apparently the elect wires are not shielded properly .. Any HV or elect interference plays havoc with DBW or key security..
They have issues under HV transmission lines for example..

we have a 2012 overland, just love it , great,SUV. We havent towed with it yet . expecting our van in about 4 months and counting down. having said all that, we have had the radio / voice activation system go haywire. Jeep replaced the whole unit, new GPS maps great service. last week noticed the clear coat over the paint is pealing , the size of a 20 cent piece on the driver side mirror, and under the left hand side headlight. Only on the plastic painted parts.i went back to jeep ,and they took photos and emailed them to head office, response the paint was only covered for 2 years.
iam laughing my head of, do they really think i was born yesterday. I have referred it back to them for a more conciliatory outcome
i will keep you all informed if interested
ps Had a similar problem clear coat pealing with a TI patrol a few years back but they fixed it

Update on my clear coat. After a letter to jeep, they are willing to compromise i have to pay half the cost to get it fixed
not happy jan, But better than nothing, if i push to get them to fix it will mean more letters, at least a couple months and hassles .
I know some on this forum will say go all the way, i know i should. But haven't got the time ,and effort would be to much at this time, we both still work and very busy
it costs $540 we will have to pay half Thats to do the front bumper and mirror . checked with 2 other repairers that price is about right what others are charging

No Liz, I won't say go all the way. I'll say get what you can and move on.
I hope your towing experience is as good as ours.
One more story about Jeeps.
