Wish that's what it was up here Marj. Pensioner rates in Qld. $296.80 for 6 months, on or before due date. $568.50 for 12 months, on or before due date.
After due date, either $352.45, or $624.15.
Cheers,
Sheba.

Does that include CTP insurance?.....CTP alone in Qld is over $330.

Sorry, have been out of range. That covers everything, just one figure total. Of course you pay your own vehicle insurance, which is not what you are talking about with CTP I presume.

CTP is Compulsory Third Party insurance - in Qld you must have this cover before you can register any vehicle. Surely you have to pay for this in Victoria? It is not motor vehicle insurance but covers anyone who you may injure with your vehicle.
Queenslanders (in general) quote the full annual cost of registration and what surprised me was the figures quoted for pensioner rego for the year in Vic being less than just the CTP insurance figure alone for Qld.
This is getting confusing! -

Gday...
What Happywanderer is saying is that the FULL rego cost in Victoria for her camper is $240-$260 at pensioner rates. That INCLUDES CTP (compulsory third party) insurance.
Obviously, she should (and probably does) take out Comprehensive Insurance through the likes of RACV, AAMI, APIA, CIL, Suncorp etc etc ... this insurance is optional and has NOTHING to do with CTP which is included in the registration cost.

Confusing when the powers that be say " 50% off rego" and people get their renewal notice of say $400, and think that they will only have to pay $200!!!! Let's say the rego is $100 and the insurance $340, then we have to pay $350.

As John, Rockylizard, has said. I quoted the full amount. Total, covers everything, no other costs, etc etc $240 - $260. Total.

To help remove any confusion that may have been created, this is what Victorian Registration Certificate/invoice shows.
It clearly shows that it is at "Pensioner Rate" (50% already applied) and that the TAC Charge (CTP in other States) is included in the total.
It all seems pretty clear to me with one total requested (including the pensioner rebate) and a break-up of how the fees are applied -

Dave have you thought of approaching a VicRoads ... they are quite probably the only ones who will be able to give you an answer of any substance on how much it will cost for the Rego for your Hi-Ace campervan.
Thanks for clearing that up John and HappyWanderer - looks like in Queensland we are no longer the smart state. I'm betting that next budget will see lots of pensioner rebates removed both federally and state.
