Hi All, where ever you hope the weather and traffic are treating you right.
Question! Wife has just fallen in love with a 22'6" Olympic Z8 is this van going to be a huge parking problem for us in most of the Caravan Park sites up the East Coast of Australia and along the Murray. Help required
Cheers Bully and Liltacker

Sorry I didn't explain myself properly. Wasn't the issue of me not being able to back or park the van more to the point do they frown on vans being over say 20' for their sites or do they put you up in the boon docks.

Hi,
Happy Wife Happy Life.
Book ahead and you may be lucky to get a bigger site. Some do, Some don't. What about Show Grounds if available. Not sure what is the standard site any more. Its getting like Real Estate. The more the size per square metre, the more the cost in premium. They may well charge a premium for big rigs too.
We are moving up to a Jayco Journey Outback 17.55 -3. Overall length 7.25mt. Not sure if that includes our 300mm extension on the A frame + = 7.55mt.
Q.What is your over all length of your snail. Q. will your tow truck handle it.

I don't think there would be too many parks that can not accommodate 22' 6" vans but there are some.

Hi Jim and Lambie,
thanks for your response, the Z8 has a travel length of 28' and our Landcruiser GXL will have no problems as a Tug.
Enjoy your Jayco and enjoy your travels and we may catch up out and about soon.

Thanks Peter
I agree but as I have learnt in life it always pays to ask the question as even though you may know the answer unexpected responses can come your way,
Cheers,
Happy Journeys.

Although they SAY there's a length limit .. I have found in 9m motor home I haven't been knocked back yet..
I could imagine if 10 long vans or motorhomes came in at once there could be issues?
The extra length is used up over small waterway or tree , garden etc as the wheel base is way less...

We have a 22'6 Swift Explorer towed with a 2011 Ford ranger. Had no problem with commercial sites but some smaller freedom sites can be a mite awkward.
