We've seen a couple done like that.
Saw a big one, about an 8 tonne pantec. TV dish & a/c on the roof.
The hydro lift back was a sun deck.
Also tray back trucks with caravans bolted to the tray, minus the wheels & under bits.
If it gets you out there it's good.

My uncle in 60's lived in a converted horse float truck..

Very similar too what we will be doing on a 4x4 canter
