That's a great link Renfrew, what a great idea to get the hot water from the drum.
Haven't heard the term QED since I worked at Mascot airport in the 60's, a Bristol pilot named Lionel VanPragg used it fairly often. He flew lobsters from Launceston to Mascot overnight and would come in the flight planning office after landing with a hessian bag full of them for the office. Sorry for going OT.
Good Luck.

I think if they escaped the pilot would have bailed out. This Lionel VanPraag used to race speedway cars before the war, then was a pilot up to the 60's...had a scarred and battered face and always wore a leather flying jacket and was one tough dude. To an impressionable teenage kid like me he was God.
Too bad we've only got the memories aye.
Regards.

Oh, so the lobsters were the cargo.... I was wondering what sort of fuel you'd put in a flying lobster..

Hako...........don't worry Troopy is taking the p*** out of your lobster comment........when I read your 1st post I was going to reply with the same smarty comment, but Troopy beat me to it.
Lionel can drop them off to me anytime - a hessian bag - gezz - almost the limit for a commercial fisherman nowdays lol

No problems! By the way, the Bristol was always chockers full of lobsters/crayfish for the Sydney Markets and back then they were only about 3 times the price per lb of prawns. Not sure how the salt water draining from the bags affected the aluminium body of the Bristol but as always "she'll be right".

Ever been bush camping & had the need for constant hot water!
Here is a very efficient, inexpensive & easy to make system from a discarded beer barrel:-
