gday all. We are heading out to the west early next year, I have looked at wikiicamps and notice few if any dump points between Ceduna and Fraser Range station. As we need to empty every 2 days, and have no intention of hurrying over the bite, can anyone tell me what they do with the loo please?
mind you I am happy to dig a hole, but how many others have done so before me, and what will I step in if I miss?
cheers

Take your shovel with you Phil
I carry a long handle post hole shovel in a bracket thingo on the roof rack
walk as far away from camp as you are comfortable with and don't use someone else's hole mate!

Ta Frank, I thought that would be the case. Looks like a great trip and we will need lots of water in April but can't wait to get back there.
OK the posthole digger gets an outing.
Cheers mate, hope you are as well as I am.

Hi Phil C
If you have a Camps book I think that you will find a list of dump points at the back of the book.
The CMCA website also has a list.
I hope this helps.
Regards Chris

As an aside....don't tie off those environmentally friendly plastic bags that come with the portable folding loos.....last prospecting trip in the West first morning I dug the pre-requisite hole
to bury it after use, in the donga...and being filled with air it came back out to greet me...so I smacked the bag with my small shovel.....not the best career move I have ever made.....it
burst everywhere with a loud bang.....instant sun tan the hard way......all over me.....a million flys wouldn't let me forget my error....you know its bad when you try and outrun
yourself....!..lol..then I furtively struggled to erect my shower tent and Coleman shower...fighting to see through the swarms of my new found friends......ahhh the relief....take my tip
never..not ever...tie off the environmentally friendly bag..puncture your bag and your thought bubble......it can become a most unfriendly bag...Hoo Roo.....

Thanks guys, very helpful tips. I'm not sure I want to puncture any bags after that story GF. Lol
I think the hole in the ground (deep) will have to do for now. Will check camps book as suggested
