$25 a night. Not many powered sites and most of those will only take illegal 10amp plugs - not your standard caravan plug. Only one shower with a door that wont lock and a 50 lt ot water cylinder. Only 3 water supply points (none at your site) and they often park 'vans right beside those so its difficult to get water from. Toilets need a few sticks of TNT and blown away - disgusting.
Not many flies, no bities while we were there in April, but 1000s of moths at night. Caretakers friendly but f***l and disorganized.
We booked for 7 nights and paid for 6, but only when I demanded $25 back because it is advertised that way.
Make sure you are a strong swimmer if it rains - the lawned area the vans are parked on floods badly. Then to add to insult, we were told at mid-day Saturday they were putting on a big 18th birthday party in one of the pavilions with a live band that night and given the option of moving everything to the other end.
Worth $10 a night max. Apparently Silverstone which is about 30 mins out of BH is a great camp to stay at

Silverstone? I think you mean Silverton which is great. It's a slow trip but well worth it. If you walk over to the pub in daylight, remember how you got there. It's a tad difficult coming home after dark - even sober.

Currently stopped overnight at the main caravan park in Broken Hill. Expensive for what it is but so glad we did not go to the racecourse one after reading the review. We did go to Silvertone for a look and had intended stopping overnight there then overnight back here in BH. The Silverton campground is nice but only tank water and no dump point. We are travelling in a Motorhome towing an Avan. Great to have the extra room and the secure lock up storage for all my rather expensive music gear. The road to Silverton is a joke. Thousands of "Dips", culvert type things. Very rough on contents of the avan and when slowing to negotiate "Dips" (maybe 60 Kph) found drivers behind getting very pushy. Found SIlverton to be totally overrated. Looking forward to hitting the road again today after ordering a replacement door for the motorhome fridge to be delivered to Bourke. Broke the bottom hinge. Lifting door off to access fridge and lashing it in place while travelling atm. At least it held on the SIlverton road. I would be very interested to hear road condition Cobar to Bourke if anyone has done it recently. Will be there in a couple of days.

We recently did the trip from Bourke to Cobar. Roads ok, some rough bits but no main issues. Travelled further up the road, now at Charleville, and again, some rough bits,a couple of roller coasters, but still, ok.
