Looking for advice on where to stay and what to see/do as we trip along the Murray. Will be staying in parks and free camping. Bella the poodle will be with us.
Cheers

Hi Robyn & Al,
Have only stayed at 2 places along the Murray. One was a free camp west of Echuca called Wills Bend. It was off season and we were the only campers there. The drop toilets were in a pretty poor state but we cleaned them up as best we could. I would probably avoid weekends as it is so close to Echuca I believe it would be a popular place for the local bike riders etc. It is down a road called Odwyer Road probably only 10 km from Echuca. The other place we stayed at was a CP the NSW side of Mildura. The Buronga Riverside Tourist Park. Nice place, and they have lots of sites down by the river. One thing I remember was being able to buy a decent bag of Red Gum firewood for about $5! We took a couple of extra bags with us. If you have WikiCamps there are heaps of places listed along the Murray. Have fun. Cheers, Brownie.
