Well, at the suggestion of Kath (Kaid), here are some details of my 1991 Hino Rainbow. The conversion to a motorhome was done by Silversun Motorhomes in Brisbane, cost a bit more than the standard starting point as I wanted extra overhead cupboards, hot water system, gas heater and other goodies, but as it is now my home I wanted everything done at the one time and not to be a mobile work in progress. I have 3 x 200W solar panels feeding 2 x 12v Giant Power 230ah batteries in parallel via a Redarc BCDC1240 charger/regulator. Has twin beds, shower/toilet, 194-litre fridge, 3-burner stove/sink combo, griller, 100-litre fresh water tank & 50-litre grey water, and front seats out of a Kia Carnivale. Apart from a small issue with the wiring of the solar system I am very happy with the workmanship of the conversion; probably not the cheapest around but the fit-out is solidly built with no squeaks or rattles. Currently adding some more interior lights, 12v power outlets and a couple of Caframo Sirocco fans ready for entry into the playground later in the year.
Looks great Joe. You should be comfy as in that mate. That gas heater will keep you on heat for sure.
I also notice it doesn't have the usual bend in the bus like Queenslanders do

The bus and I are straight and true, Doug, although I'm a bit round in the middle and thin on top! Haven't touched the heater yet, but I'm sure it will get a good workout when I go down to Narromine in August for a family gathering - I'm told winter nights are rather cold in the central west of NSW.
Cheers

Yes W&S, it's a neat unit, Dometic EK1246 or EK2000 according to the gas info sticker, but on Dometic's website it's described as a Cramer Combi unit. Glass lids make additional bench space. Only niggle is the lid over the burners rests on the trivets and not on the rubber bump stops. I stop the rattles by placing a length of non-slip matting between the trivets and the lid when travelling.

Thanks Fran, looking forward to meeting you and other forum regulars once I'm on the road full time.
Aus-Kiwi: Had thought of putting a dob on the rubber bump stops, but am happy to keep using the rubber mat. The people who did the fit-out warned me about it, apparently Dometic makes them that way for some reason.
