Hylda&Jon...thanks for posting this terrific story.
What happened should be obvious. He fixed the gutters and hurt his hands. He intended to fix the stairs too...as soon as his hands healed. It was just unfortunate that these thugs accidentally fell down the stairs and knocked themselves unconscious before then.

Dear Lord, I can hardly type for laughing so much! The scumbags must have got the fright of their miserable lives. Good on you mate! I'd love to shake your hand and fill it with a beer glass. Sadly, in PC Australia, he'll probably be charged.
Cheers, Tony

Just what I thought of when I read it. Thoroughly enjoyed Gran Torino.

If this had happened in America, where most households have a gun, he could have shot them and the law would not have bothered him about it...

Gun ownership in the US is frequently exaggerated - http://www.nytimes.com/2013/03/10/us/rate-of-gun-ownership-is-down-survey-shows.html?_r=0 http://www.infoplease.com/askeds/owns-guns-america.html
Violence is normally no laughing matter but this brings a smile to my face.
