Hi Everyone, me in trouble again!!! Where do I mount the camera to give me the best help with parking the van?
I have taken 12 volts from the brown parking light wire and run the video cable to the vehicle. I have another camera for backing to van/trailers and can switch between the two. At the moment I have it roughly mounted as high and central as can be done at the back of the van.

If you mount it high enough that you can reach it without a ladder then you can adjust as needed. The camera on the Motorhome has a 2 position bracket that will lock in either position so I have one possie for general rear view cause the mirrors on the MH are next to useless and the other position for tight reversing when and IF needed. I also have it on a switch so I can view anytime using it as a full time rear view, rather than just wiring up to the reverse light.

This is how I mounted my camera ,no drilling holes through the body ,the height is great can see what's coming for meters,looking at your set up would there be enough room behind the spare to mount a bracket then your camera onto the bracket just an idea to save drilling holes ,and hidden wire ring.

Hi Paul, mine is fitted up top just below the word "Chief" Between the h&i. It is set to just above horizon and I van see directly below and to each side. I actually see the trailer of a semi etc in the camera as the cab is beside the Tug. My camera can be on all the time and has sound as well but I have that turned off. I also have a mirror mounted monitor and find that great, that's a personal choice thing though.

Obviously with the cameras that have 170 degrees of viewing you cannot see the rear corners of the van. Does this pose a problem?

Hi Aussie Paul,
In the pictures is how I mounted my camera, the wires were run down inside the fibreglass trim and along the chassis to the front of the van. It took me less than an hour to do.
I mounted the camera for last weeks trip, and was happy with it. I turn the park lights on to activate it otherwise it shows the towball for backing to van/trailer. It shows some lines on the screen for judgement purposes, so I need to measure them.
