How do you rid yourself of Geckoes in a caravan? We are in Gladstone and have picked up some unwelcome hitch hikers. We would really like to rehome them to anywhere other than our van. Can you help?

"Glenelg", Dave will take them, he likes hitchhikers
I was going to suggest just pick them up and put them outside away from you but they are quick little buggers.

This subject has been discussed already, some time ago. Why not leave them alone. They'll get rid of Insects you don't want inside. Like Flies, and Spiders etc.
Cheers,
Sheba.

Hi Sheba
If I was in a house I may leave them but in a caravan the mess they make out weighs any spiders (which we don't have) that they may eat. They don't eat mossies or flies because I'm still being eaten alive from mossies and there is plenty of flies too! Never saw any previous posts so don't know what was discussed.
Thanks

They make more mess in my House than in my friends' Caravan. [Friends live on my property in their 'van.] I've seen Geckoes catching Flies in their 'van, numerous times.
The previous posts were a couple of months ago now.
Cheers,
Sheba.

They are attracted to light so maybe you could try leaving the van dark for a few days with a light outside. This may not be possible if you have to live in it full time but if you're going away for a few days?

Hi Bello
Yes these are Asian House Geckoes they were in plague proportions in Gympie and although we are in Gladstone close by there is a lot here as this photo shows. 3 cats here can't even keep them at bay. I certainly don't want them in my van.
Thanks for the advice, I've also heard that surface spray sends them packing.
Yep, I can see your problem Lainie, it's those beady little eyes looking at you for sure. No mucking around now hear You might give them ideas and then there will be more of the little buggers

I'd love to know how to get rid of them. We have lots of the noisy dirty buggers in the house but never the van.
Have tried all sorts of sprays with no luck & get the house sprayed every 12 months too. No roaches or spiders .. just bloody geckoes.
Only success that I have had is to squash them with a thong if I'm quick enough.

We were forever removing Asian Gecko droppings inside the house until the daughter's Burmese 'pocket kitten' arrived. The cat is more dog than most dogs in his relationship with the family.
Geckos gone.

Not sure about most of the ideas on this site except perhaps the sticky paper. Might be the go in the van.
(I'd never let them go in the garden as suggested. Just squash them & into the bin)
