Pat on the back for Dougwe, while I am fairly new to the forum, I notice that Dougwe always gives a friendly welcome, and gives encouraging advice to the new comers on the forum. While others do their bit also, I notice Dougwe is always there.

I'd agree there too - never a harsh word from Doug and goes out of his way to help people. We met Doug in Townsville and it was like meeting an old friend.

yep - we agree - it was Doug and Jules that put Greens Lakes on our must do this year (eve though neither will be there when we are) and both never have a harsh word and always friendly and helpful.

Gee thanks everyone for the kind words and iana for the post. It is easy being nice but I must admit that I have had a moment or two where I couldn't resist a little niggle, so to speak, you must have missed those
I have been told over the years here that I post "absolute crap", "nonsense", "garbage" but ya know what they have only been a few people and I have had many PM's and people telling me that they enjoy all that stuff and my updates that sometimes end up like a novel, so I will just keep going the way I do, including my sick sense of humour.

Totally agree, yes Dougwe is one of the good guys. We go back a long way to our first meet at Gloria Jeans in Echuca. Myself, Dougwe, Ken Thomas and Lynnie. This was before Doug had got out on the road and when he was still deciding.
Now he is a changed man, so relaxed, always with a smile on his face, always willing to lend advice, never a bad word about anybody, and great for a chat at happy hour.
Keep going the way you are Doug, you will do fine.

I remember [ back in the Good Old Days, ] that you used to Pay, Myself, Wombat, Vic41 , and a few others, $10 for posting NICE things about you,!! To start with we all thought it was a Good source of additional Income, However it soon became Un-viable !! as the Group of us would get together and work out Nice things to say about you,, However after the first couple of NICE things, ! we had trouble coming up with any more, In Total we ended up Posting 7 NICE things to say about you, Wombat came up with Nothing Vic came up with 2, and I came up with 5, [ but I do Fib a lot ] --- Anyway after the first few posts, ! we all gave up as it was just to hard, to come up with anything Believable, and you were rather slow in paying us the $10, also when you did finally pay, It was buy Personal Cheque, and the Always Bounced, -- And Now I Log back on Here and read all these Glowing Comments about you,, I can only assume that you must have won lotto, To be able to pay this many people to lie [OOPS ] SAY nice things about you,
On a more serious note, ! Dougwe I think i was most likely one of, if not the First Forum Members you Met, and we have been Good friends from Day one, You are an easy Guy to like, and a True Sincere Gentleman, With your Un- happy memories of the past, You needed to find Purpose again in your Life, You Found that Purpose on This Forum, and with the Friendships you made from it, Yes !! this Forum gave you a Lot, However you have Given this Forum a Lot More !! After the shall we say Big Debarcle of a few months back, This forum was severely damaged, However it was people like YOU who stuck by it, weathered the Storm, and assisted it to the position of re-building, that it is now at, So i think you can thank Cindy, for this Forum, and Cindy can Thank You for being You, !!

I am in contact with the "big hairy guy" on a regular basis and he says hi to all his mates.
He gets grounded a lot by MrsW cos he is very naughty some times, well, most of the time actually.

I have to echo those sentiments posted on this thread, I have met up with Doug many times and found him to be a real gentleman.
I always look for his updates although I rarely stray from the Greens and Solo's forums.
Keep it up Doug and look into Wuruma when you travel to Townsville later.
