I was very lucky to survive Marcia with just a broken window and ruined solar panel, along with a dent in the awning housing. Could have been a lot worse had some branches come down a few inches either side of where they landed.

Phew! Very lucky indeed Joe. Good to see you are OK and the emergency services on the job. They all do such a great job.

Lucky you got relatively little damage - and thank goodness for our emergency service guys and girls!

Wow Joe, you were certainly very lucky. Must have been so scary. Glad that you are all OK. Thanks for the pics, it puts into some kind of perspective of the amount of damage and destruction that happens during a cyclone.

All of the emergency services were a Godsend - seemed at one stage they were queuing up to come in and check on us, while Peter & Sue's dog Sasha, who normally challenges strangers with some ferocious barking, gave up and just took all the commotion in her stride. Was pleasantly surprised by the performance of my Fuji 3kW generator. Having only been kicked over once a month or so to clear the cobwebs, it ran without a hiccup for about 12 hours a day over six days. I think it now deserves an oil change and a good rest!
Rockhampton Council brought out a brand new Ryobi generator but we didn't use it as it didn't have a pure sine wave output and we were worried about damaging the power supplies for Peter & Sue's medical equipment, so we stuck with the Fuji.
Cheers Joe
