The old council caravan park in Kreb Street, Murgon (formerly $+ in camps 7) is now a free 48hour stop over. If you need to use amenities, you pay $10.00 deposit for key from Information Centre. Level shady or sunny sites, caravan slabs, some drive through. Right in town, walking distance to IGA and other shops etc.
Have checked Camps amendments, and it does not appear to have been listed, so may still show in Camps 8 as a $+. I will be emailing Camps Australia Wide with this information for their next edition.
Thanks for that.
We'll probably be out that way in a few weeks.

Thanks again Dunmowin ( Lorraine & John).
What an idealic spot !
Birds in the trees in the evening, lovely.
As an aside.
There is a blue box on the amenities wall.
Council ask that you put any shopping dockets from your stay in Murgon in the box.
Gives them justification to provide the free camp, spending in the town.
Sounds like a fair idea.

Glad this place is still available. There was talk last year of shutting it down which would have been a great loss. Is there still a few spots with power available?

CAW 8 has it listed correctly. It should also be in the amendments for CAW7. I'll leave it to others to check.

Last time I was there most of the power boxes had been disconnected except for 4 closest to the amenities block. Pity if they're off now too but it's still a good stopover.
