......and anyone else up in Queensland Cyclone area. Hold on tight and don't be brave and do anything silly guys.
You are in my thoughts as the weather gods release their best/worst at you all.
I am also thinking of all the campers at StLawrence. I sure hope they have all moved to safer area's.

St Lawrence has been evacuated. We in our van behind a friend's home at Deception Bay & is really raining heavily now with wind but nothing to worry about at the moment. This rain will keep up all day without a doubt.

All of you in the areas of the 2 cyclones, take care. Get as far away as you can. Any shopping centers with concrete constructed car parks is a good place to hide. I recall all the good wishes and messages of concern I received from Forum members when I was stuck close to two major typhoons in the Philippines over the past 2 years. My advice is get as far away from the eye as you can. Work out which direction the wind is blowing from and take cover behind a large well constructed building. Don't forget once the eye passes over, the wind direction will reverse. In the southern hemisphere, the wind will move clockwise around the eye. Because of my previous experiences, I'll be thinking of you, no one in particular coz I don't know anyone in the area, but I'll be thinking about the whole community, local and GN.
Marcia crossed the coast Friday morning with winds of 110 knots, gusting to 135 kts. That's a very strong breeze.

On the Sunshine Coast we have had heavy showers on and off since yesterday afternoon which is from the trough in the South East.
We are yet to feel any effects from Marcia. Not sure how much rain we will get from this system.
Last I heard she was to go inland and pass west of Toowoomba as a cat 1 (So hard to believe) There will be flooding if we get another dump of rain
