Maclean could almost be deemed an UNFRIENDLY RV town. When the council announced the RV were to be allowed to stay in the showground, some of the locals kicked up quite a stink.
I drove past the showground prior to Christmas and their were a few vans parked beside the river. An excellent stop.

Re Mclean NSW. Unfortunately the Clarence Valley council, need to be kicked out and a new lot voted in. But again unfortunately the old time Graftonian`s will vote the old in. Don`t like the new. The Mayor is better sticking to his radio show, which is debatable, and as we live here. A lovely town, but needs a lot of work done, and upgraded. I have heard that Gateway, especially during winter, has sites for $22 a night. A top park. The best park here.

Sorry Nat-John but WHAT??? We stayed at Maclean showgrounds a few weeks ago, clean, grassy - a respite in the wet. Walk into town, dump point. Happy to spend some GN$s in town. In fact, probably in the vicinity of around $200.00. If you don't want our GN money, we will take it elsewhere, but we were happy to spend it in your town.

I was answering a comment by Phillipn. But I did notice when we went thru Mclean a couple of weeks ago that there were a few caravans in the Showgrounds. So maybe the Local Council Member for Mclean realised they were making a mistake. It is a great interesting town.

Nat-John, I made reference to a few of the local [ anti everything] Maclean residence who were objecting to RV`s using the Maclean showground, not the council. Yes, the grey nomad $$$$$$ will be welcome in town.
We stayed at the Gateway park in Grafton in April. A great park and a great price. Better value than the Grafton showground.

Yes, Phillipn it happens. Grafton has the same problem. Tho the council have actually made provision for RV parking for shopping in Queen St, by the Old Coles complex. So it is a start. A lot of locals are complaining and ignoring the signs. Happy Travelling.
