Does anyone know where Beth is? She has not been on line since 24th Jan, I PMd her a couple of days ago and have not heard anything back. Her current signature says Beth, SEQ. Recovering from surgery in Nambour.I don't know how old that message is/was. Bit concerned.

I have just e-mailed her. She was at her sisters' at Tin Can Bay, to recover from the surgery.
" It's now 4 weeks since surgery and I'm feeling a lot stronger. Just in time for Xmas thank goodness.
And I've lost 11 kg in the bargain. Partly from trying before surgery and partly because of surgery.
I'm now in my caravan at my sisters at Tin Can Bay, where I'll be staying for the next few weeks."
The above was posted on Dec.20th.
Glad to hear she's doing well.
Cheers,
Sheba.

Beth is ok, she moved into a nice unit near Redcliffe today. In a hi rise with a nice view of the ocean.
Because of all her ailments and operations she is in a long recovery mode for a while, and although has had a few days stay in her little caravan she can't do it full time for a while, hence getting herself a new unit.
She will be back on when she is all set up. Furniture doesn't arrive till Monday so she is camping in instead of camping out.

Thanks everyone. I did not know about her surgery, last I heard she was recovering from her broken ankle - at least I thought it was - at Tin Can Bay back in November. If anyone is speaking with her, please say hi for us.

Hi Everyone
That's nice that you are all looking out for each other.
Just to let you know re Beth.
Beth is alive and well and is in her new unit which is beautiful. She moved in yesterday and sent me pictures. It will be a good healing place for her. This morning she had a early morning visit from another grey nomad Bill12 who had spent the night in our front yard on his way back north. Beth put him in touch with us earlier on in his way south.
Beth was here as recently as 2 weeks ago, and earlier on in January when she had dr appointments. I was glad of her company then as Vaughan was in hospital for a urgent operation.
I sent Beth a message this morning to tell her I'd post on here and I'm sure that you will hear from her very soon.

As a few have said, I'm alive and well, and very much appreciate your concern.
I guess I haven't been looking in because nomadding was the last thing on my mind.
So an update...Yes I broke my ankle in October and just when I came out of the moon boot near the end of November, I was summonsed for my surgery. I knew it was coming but it was really only a weeks notice. Of course I had no home to go to, as I'd planned to take off in the van. So 10 days in hospital then I had to recuperate at my cousins at Nambour for 2 weeks. Then I went to my sister at Tin Can Bay. Every so often I had appointments in Brisbane and I wanted to see my kids and grandies, so I'd go down and stay with Carol & Vaughan. (CnV) Carol & I went to school together. They were very welcoming.
During all this, I realised I wanted a home base, & I'll need it because there's more surgery to come. I found out about this studio apartment coming up at Scarborough, on the Redcliffe Peninsula. But I had to wait a good while for it to become vacant. Anyway, as Marj said, I moved in yesterday and I love it. Sheer luxury to me. I'm on the fourth floor, with a large balcony, bay views, undercover secure parking, security lift etc. I's also a short walk to the foreshore where I can walk, and the family can enjoy when they visit. Playground, BBQ's and swimming. I think I've died and gone to heaven!
As for my health, I have so much more energy, it's amazing. I'm so glad I'm rid of that diseased colon. Now waiting for stage two.
I'm not thinking too far ahead at the moment. I just want to enjoy my new home and new health, but I'm always happy to catch up with my GN friends if you're in the area. C'mon Carol, come and visit me!

Hi Beth, thanks for the update. Wish I had known a few weeks back when we were sitting at either Yandina or Ningi, we could have tried a bit harder to come and see you. All the best with your recovery, and enjoy your new home. Keep playing with us whenever you can.

Thank you all.
Sheba, yes the next two ops are major as well. I'll email you. My sister told me not everyone wants to know the gory details but I'm happy to inform anyone who's interested and/or not squeamish. So I'll just PM anyone who wants to know.
I look forward to that visit Marj. Hopefully I'll have my sofa bed/spare bed by then.
