I am rewiring the tug. (not happy with the way it was set up originally). I am running a separate wire from the start battery to an andersen plug for the van fridge. Would there be any problems with running this wire through a redarc V.S.R. (I have a spare one) to eliminate possibility of a flat start battery.
Any reply positive or negative appreciated
Cheers Pete

That sounds pretty reasonable to me, as long as the VSR is mounted near the Start battery.

Thanks for the replys. I couldn't see any problem. I thought I'd throw it out there to see if anyone came up with a reason not to.
Cheers Pete

It all depends upon whether you have one of the old style MES (manual energy select) fridges or one of the newer AES fridges. I take it you have one of the former. If by any chance you have an AES fridge then you need an ignition switched wire as well to trigger the logic board to select the 12 V power when the alternator is running and gas when it is not. When using the ignition switched wire you don't need the VSR.

Thanks for that info. Mine is a manual control. I would like to fit a compressor fridge in the future.
