Hi Robert (or is it Bob or Robbie?).
Welcome the this great Forum and becoming a Grey Nomad. Many of us are permanents as you are thinking of doing - best thing we've ever done (well, almost). We LOVE our gypsie life style. We've been staying with one of our kids for the best few months and leaving in a couple of weeks for about 10 mnths on the road - cant wait to get going. You soon deveop itchy feet as a permanent Nomader.
This site is brilliant for company and advice. Also make sure you get Wikicamps on your pc or tablet (costs about $7 per year) and has a map of Aust showing pretty much all the caravan parks and free camps. The other thing to have is a Camps 8 book. With these two items you'll be set

Just be careful of "BigO" (Ontos) cos he will lead you astray and if KFT comes on he will go "off topic" for sure.

Hi all been in Darwin now for 5 and a half months still having work done on the van bit by bit and not having a dealership up here hurts the budget and the travelling bug abit. The Darwin weather is not too good it is starting to rain and when it is in the full season we will be buggered as we have leaks in the van and the annexe, the heat is oppressive being humid every day so until the work is done then we cannot leave. The mob who built this van wants us to pack up and leave and head to Port Hedland 2500 Klms to put it into a dealership, question is who is going to pay for the juice to get there and back to Katherine and with a faulty ESC do not know million dollar question, air condititioner faulty and the van leaks plus other little ****ty problems. Any way come Thursday we will find out what the mob want us to do, we have a lemon folks, 27 issues/ problems.
