This Grandpa has just had one of my grandchildren aged 10 give me a 64 gig ipad as they have just updated, I have asked them to come over and show me how to use it.

Yes, the grandchildren soon outsmart the grandparents when it comes to technology.

Ha ha, good one. We would get disciplined with the "yard" ruler!! Expensive to do that with an Ipad!!!!
Enjoy the nap...

She will probably never copy me from this part of my youth. Our son Matt when I said "I was gorgeous back then" said, "you have a long nose and a small child on ya back!!! LOL

You were damn lucky Olley - we had a slate and slate pencil - it was great when we got to Primary though, we had "indelible" pencils - that we licked and the lead turned to ink (so did our tongues).

Oh, brings back memories. I also had a ruler at school, but I used to get wacked around the legs with it.............probably 'cause I was talking.

despite being geriatric, we have young married friends who have kids typically under 10.
Most of them have, or intend to buy their kids proper quad bikes.
I now just quietly shake my head and wonder what the hell is going on............not only is it illegal for them to be on the road (before they get into the nearby bush and beach), bu theyre too bloody young to be given vehicles at all, let alone $10K+ ones and what on earth are they going to give them when they are 5 years older - a house???
Ive asked these otherwise really nice people why they give their kids stuff like this and despite the waffle, they don't have a really good answer..........
Grandaughter copying Grandpa...
