I have a Response QM-3761 (9 inch) reversing camera setup in the Coaster, Been there since we bought it. But now it is playing up.
After about 10 min of running it will go crazy with lines running across the screen picture goes dark will switch on and off etc.
Now I have rewired it and made no difference as I expected but I fixed all the accessories up at the same time so it wasn't a waste of time. When you put your fingers on the back of it you can feel clicking with the screen. A mate who fixes tv's etc is going to look at it in the future.
But my real question is can I just get any small lcd monitor and connect it up to the camera or are they matching. Where does the camera get its power from? As there is just a coax from the camera to the screen and a rca plug to adapt coax to video input on screen.
Cheers Allan

You should be able to get a monitor off eBay for under $80. The plugs are generally universal.
I have one here you could have for a block of carlton mid cans, depending on where you are how much use that is to you.

Neil do you mean a monitor or response 9 inch. I'm in the Upper Hunter Valley NSW. Postage on the cans would be more than the cans are worth lol. That is if you are in WA. The plug on this screen is mini din 6 pin but they are easy to source. I've already worked out the pin arrangement.

Beware of polaris as their plugs are all moulded a dont interchange; just been through this a they cant even sell you an empty plug to mate up.
They also run all negative curcuits through one cable; that being battery; video neg a audio neg.

I just had another look at it Allan, it is only a 7" so probably too small for you.
If you want to give it a go though let me know.

Thanks Neil but yes a 9 inch would be better, Just found virtually same monitor on Ebay for just under $100 delivered. I'll have to see if mine is repairable first. Cheers Allan

Allan. I know it's not what you are asking for, but I just fitted an ex-ebay 'wireless' system ($58) to my Elf. It's wireless from cam to screen. Ref yr question of power, the camera takes its power from the reversing light wires (so comes on when you select reverse). The screen (which is smaller that what you want) is in a composite rear view mirror that clips over the existing truck cab int mirror. I took power thru the int light (part of the orig truck mirror. All works fine except that the screen is a bit small. Hope this fills a gap for you. Cheers... :)
