Has anyone had any experience with COMPANION brand fridge/freezers? One of the camping stores have a special going at the moment, and the price seems good, if the fridge is too.
Thanks. TEO.

Welcome to the gang Teo, enjoy here and out in the playground.
No experience but usually Companion products are pretty good. Someone might come along that has one that can give you first hand info.
Good luck and keep safe.

Many years ago I asked the agent about these fridges.
He advised that it had to be nearly perfectly level to operate effectively

It would seem that all gas fridges
Have a requirement to be level before
They will get cold

Are you folks aware that Companion manufacture compressor operated fridge freezers as well as 3 way?

But a compressor fridge does not have to be level
It makes no difference what angle it is at within reason

Sorry guys. The fridge/freezer I was asking about is a 2 way with compressor. I have seen plenty of Engels and Waecos around, but for the way we would use this fridge, I don't want to go to the expense of those brands.
Thanks again. TEO.

G'day Teo welcome to the forum you will find a great bunch of people here, I don't know what level of use you have in mind for the fridge but it's important to bear in mind that you only get what you pay for, I carry a Waeco 60 and have used it effectively as a fridge and freezer.
When up in the Gulf met a guy that had a very scratched Waeco and he told it fell off the back of the ute and it still works perfectly it looked pretty dagy but I guess so would I if I fell off a ute on a dirt road travelling at over 100 klm.
