Good afternoon all. Just wondering if anyone has any further information on the showground being re-opened for camping? I saw an article from October last year that seemed to indicate that the area would be opened again. We are planning a trip to that area late January. Any feedback would be appreciated cheers wayne

Hi Wayne,
Firstly welcome to the site. Secondly, the showgrounds. I stayed there a couple of months ago, I think I got in because of good luck rather than good management. There was a dog show on and the caretaker allowed me to stay as long as I told people I belonged to the dog show.
It is a great spot with good facilities. The care taker did tell me that the council were considering opening the grounds up again, but no decision had been made. When you arrive at the showgrounds there is a number to call him to ask about camping there, so I think it would be worth going in and trying your luck. If not able to stay, Mullimbimby is not far away and have a couple of spots there at the Leagues Club and the showground.
Sorry I cannot be anymore specific, can only report on my experience. I stayed for 3 nights @ $15pn, single, with power and water.
Good luck with it all.
Sharon.

Now you ought to put all those details in the Recommendations section so we can find it later. Good to know.
I can't recommend it until we have been there.....
