I lost my trailer plug whilst travelling this morning .Come to wire a new one connected all wires all working .But I have 2 large wires which i don't know were they go can any help

Do you have reversing sensors, as they maybe the need tobe connected to disable the sensors when a trailer is connected

Hi Trev , could be a number of options . electric brakes . camera , reverse lights , not sure what your installation is ? as long as break Lights, blinkers ,etc are working they can only be for auxiliary equipment . how about power for the fridge maybe or charging batteries.

I will try again .isent a message off this morning but I don't know where it went too .what I have done is taken the tug socket off and copied it for the van .but I still don't know what it powers more investigation tommorow .

From the conversations I'm not sure if you have the plug/socket wiring diagrams. They are on this page.
Your trailer wiring colour code may not be according to the standard. You can find out what the wires power by using the tugs battery. Connect the battery negative to the earth wire and go around the others with a jumper lead, one wire at a time and see what lights up.

I suspect power and earth for fridge if you are towing a van and if so would change to a 12 pin flat as the bottom row pins are rated to 35amp much better for your fridge
