Just replaced all of the lights and fittings in our motorhome with LED's, 10 in all, great success.
This consisted of replacing 4 x 12 volt fluorescent fittings and 6 x quartz halogen bulbs, lighting level is remarkably better and power consumption reduced by approx 2/3rd's.
Total cost from Jaycar at Soldiers Point NSW about $200 and a few hours work on my part.

Did not keep part numbers John, all a bit of trial and error, each installation would be different, had to buy fittings that would cover existing screw holes etc.
The QH replacements were for two prong fittings, just a matter of plugging them in.
Pretty much a matter of visiting a store and selecting what meets your requirements, the people at Soldiers Point Jaycar were very helpful, I took the fluorescent fittings I wanted to replace with me and they powered them up aswell as the LED's allowing me to make a comparison.
Sorry I cant give a little more detail, there is so much available it's still a bit hit and miss, as it was I visited the store 4 times.

I have done likewise, incandescent globes were easy, but fluorescent a little more challenging especially if you want to retain the original fixture as we did. It was necessary to remove ballast and starters, I purchased T8 LED tubes and I am very happy with the result. I can recommend LEDS unlimited. http://www.ledsunlimited.com.au/

Morning Muskat,
I chose to replace the existing fluorescent fittings as diffusers etc were discoloured and tired looking, nice new fittings have given the interior a lift.
I understand that for economic reasons others may choose to retain the original fittings and, as you say, remove/replace existing components.

Recently replaced all of mine in the Jayco and it made a considerable difference I removed down light over the sink and purchased a led light bar with switch, the ceiling lights i replaced them with T10 24 led boards which I purchased on ebay item no 251263096884 at a cost of $6.99 each with free postage, they give heaps of white light and were cheaper than i could find in retail stores

Replaced halogen bulbs in the rangehood with LED. Was as simple as removing the old bulbs (2 pins), took it to a lighting shop and matched them to some LED bulbs. Plugged them in and presto. Now all LED in the RV.
