I have recently bought an ex-ambulance, already converted. I wondered about the feasibility and cost of replacing the sliding door. Does anyone have an opinion (considered or otherwise!) about this option?

Hello Monica - I purchased a Sprinter that the people had taken the sliding door off and put a door there. They wouldn't have been able to have the set-up they put there if it had been a sliding door. I find it good for security reasons but as to costs etc. I am unable to say. Have you done any trips as yet? Happy New Year and great travels.
There are many done that way. You will notice them as the hole is filled in with flat metal so the door fits flush on the new panel. Needs a good tradesman who knows what he is on about. It would cost a few grand, the door alone is around a grand.
