We use woolies boost. Works a treat in the dunny. If the pong gets too much it gets a dose of pine-o-clean

For Coles - http://shop.coles.com.au/online/nsw-metro-bateau-bay/coles-brand-soaker-ultra-booster-everyday-plus The important thing is to look for the active ingredient. In this case it's sodium percarbonate 346 g/kg. Just go to the section where you get your laundry soakers (Napisan etc.) Look for a soaker with sodium percarbonate as its active ingredient. Be careful though, they can come in different strengths. In Aldi they sell the same thing with 34% active ingredient as well as 24%. Always get the product with over 30% active ingredient.

I too use any product that has >35% of sodium percarbonate.
I add a few drops of Eucalyptus for the 'pong' although some of our resident experts say that as mild disinfectant it works against the process. In practice it doesn't, at least for 3 or 4 days.

Eucy works to help with the "pong" - there is also a theory that if you put a small amount of water on top of the seal after every use, and leave it there, replace when used again the "pong" can't come through - don't know though, haven't tried it.
Please don't use Pine o Cleen, or any of the like disinfectants - they counteract the action of the nappy soaker!!!!!!!!! Eucy oil is a natural product, and being oil, sits on top of liquids!!!

Good one Cloak, I like that
Thanks everybody for your help. I had seen the coles ultra soaker but I think from memory that it did not list the active ingredient or amount.
Cheers, John

For anyone interested, Sodium Percarbonate, nappy soakers main ingerdient, can be bought from some home brew shops in 5kg bulk, it is also 100% sodium percarbonate, so requires far less to work, maybe a teaspoon full per time.
Last lost I got was $25, but being classed as a Hazardous item (well it is an oxidizer) they will not post it. It is mainly used for cleaning brewing equipment etc.

Thanks for the info re the bulk buy - trouble is storage, with 5kg, would be quite bulky, and in a motorhome, we don't have the storage. Interesting though.
Hi all,
Can someone give me the exact actual name of the coles and woollies brands of nappy soaker for use in portable toilets please.
Thanks.
John
Cannot give you the Coles name but Woolies is homebrand laundry soaker & inwash booster.
From Woolworths, I buy Select brand Soaker and Stain Remover...
