Is pool noodle foam a suitable material to place in a battery box to stop battery from sliding around in box ?

Don't know about pool noodles, but I have used poly styrene (brocolie box) as packing for my small kayak battery in a normal size batt box for years. It doesn't soak up any acidic spillage as foam may.

Pool noodle foam is closed cell, Low Density Polyethylene, unaffected by acid, difficult to crush and ideal for the job.
Much better than Expanded Polystyrene Foam.

Thanks I have polystyrene here to use to but wondered what was suitable. I have previously been told closed cell foam but I don't know the difference between foams.

Pool noodle foam is often placed at the edges of the frontal overhang of 5th wheels and the higher slide-outs to prevent banged heads in the US. I often look like a very abused husband.

I wonder if it's the same stuff I used to use on roll cage tubing? That stuff is strong and available from 4WD or rally shops.

Similar, but not as heavy duty Cloak. That roll cage stuff is pretty solid stuff. The pool noodle foam should be perfect for the job though due to it's resilience.

I use the pool noodles (KMart selling 3 for $5 at moment) to warn (mainly) me and others not the trip over the corner guy ropes on the annexe. I just slit a straight vertical line right through to the centre hole. Then I just slip them on over the rope and hey - you can see the rope (unless you've really got into the Drambueue So Im not Scottish and cant spell the name, but got 3 x 1.25 lt bottles to share when we meet up with a drink depraved GN when we travel again in February).
I also cut some down to about a foot long and partly slide them onto the centre ropes. They will stay on the rope at whatever level you put them at (about face height). When not in use I throw them under whaever in the van boot or back of ute and they don't get damaged. If someone pinches them - big deal, for what it cost you.
Just a quick question :
