As an aside, has anyone ever noticed how confused and incompetent GenYs become when something minor fails and there isn't an 'app' to fix it?
Many are not practical at all. It is as though their education and upbringing has gelded them mentally and they cannot take the minor risk of having a go at finding and fixing the problem.
I suppose that many more boys (and girls) are being raised by mum. Not many male teachers either in their early formative years to balance. Or are they being raised by The Box and Net and most have gone soft and dependent?

You check any bus stop or similar. There could be 10 people and the majority will be playing or at least holding their phones or I pads. Older people as well.
Can't they at least put them away for a while ? obviously not.

Just have a look at modern cars - incomprehensible unless you have a computer, the necessary software and the smarts to understand what it's telling you. Its not surprising that the younger generation aren't all that practical - their world doesn't encourage it.

Some truth in that too, Dave.
Got to be concerned though when you encounter fire warnings on matches, or "May cause drowsiness" on sleeping tablets. My favourite is the warning on a blender not to submerge the electrical component in water and added, "Do not place (base) in dishwasher". Shucks, I was going to do that right after the dishwasher finished drying the mobile phone and sandwich maker (on 'gentle wash' of course).

Yeah, my favorites are "Stack Other Side Up" on the bottom of a pavlova box or the warning on the instructions for an iron to not to iron clothes while wearing them. One has to wonder at the legal cases that caused these warnings to be developed!!
