Have just had a bad experience with Budget Direct & feel the need to warn anyone interested.
We have a 2006 Ford ute & coromal 900kg pop up caravan.
We spend 6 months on the road each year.
Recently we hit a wash-out in the road south of Cooktown which blew 2 tyres & cracked the chassis both sides putting us off the road.
Long story short...........the company have told us they have never seen this type of damage before so are denying the claim stating that they believe it to be metal fatigue caused by
"having the ute loaded & towing over the vehicles lifetime"
So, apparently if you're dealing with Auto & General Group through one of their shopfront retailers & you use your ute to tow or carry a load.............look out!

That's why I stick with companies like GIO may cost more up front but much better service when you need to claim

GIO never paid out on one of my rentals.. water pipe leaked and damaged kitchen..
They spent as much investigating the claim as I did replacing the whole kitchen..
YES generally it pays to keep the bigger companies..
Keep in mind there is not much competition..

Hi Foz. I would be seeking legal advice. They sure took your money real quick, and the weight of your camper is within legal. BLUDGERS.
Cheers,
Laurie
