G,day.I am stuck the Royal Melb Hospital for the last couple of days waiting for a swelling in my throat to go down so they can operate. However I have just found out that because I am on blood thinners cause of my dodgy ticker they are sending me home for 10 days to wait till my blood thickens up due to the nature of the operation. But in the last 2 days I have been picked up in a wheelchair and taken for various tests ,MRI,CT etc . So when you arrive at your destination you get "parked " in the stretcher area or in a semi circle with the wheelchair mob dependant on your mode of transport. Now bear in mind that you perhaps don,t look your best that is to say that me for instance ,not owning pyjamas since I was 12 ,I was in a pair of daggy old gym shorts and my favorite old T shirt with "old guys rule " emblazoned across it. Well, I am sure you have all been there or you now have a mental picture of the scene I am looking at right ! Now being a part time nomad I said good morning to all in attendance I further made the comment that we all look like we are a mob of caravaners about to have our Happy hour we are just missing a beverage of choice and a nice piece of brie or smoked salmon. A voice from the far end said "bloody clothes wouldn,t go astray either " ! Well ...... that was the ice breaker ! I think were perhaps 9 folk in total and everyone started laughing ! It was about 6-7 mins before the first of us got wheeled of ,but the chatter was full on, in fact as one left another came and joined in. Er .. kinda sounds familiar doesn,t It !! Cheers John

Goodonya Moamajohn! Best of luck with all that hospital stuff. Congratulations for starting a cheerful moment for the other people who no doubt weren't all that happy before.
I sometimes do something similar in supermarket queues, read the horoscopes in the magazines for everybody then put them back on the rack.

Hope it all goes well for you John.
There is always a beverage of various types in the "Chief" mate if you want to call in on the way home. You know where I am hanging out for a while.
