I spotted this photo of a replica village from the 19th century at Wilberforce in NSW. I didn't know the village existed, but it's really beautiful. Anyone been there?

Gary where have you been? Aren't you based in N.S.W.? Wilberforce is not a replica it is a genuine piece of Australian history. I lived for a long time some twenty kms from there. My kids still live only 7-10 kms from the place, in Windsor about 65 kms from Sydney CBD.
Sorry, praps i'm more widely travelled than i give myself credit for, but i still have places to go and people to see. I won't live long enough to see everything but i'll give it a bloody could go.

Hi Gary I've been there many times I was based in RAAF Richmond in the late 70's so it was just up the road.
In fact further up the Putty road was the Colo river where we used to swim and camp.
Not sure if suburbia has swallowed it up yet but I would say the Colo is a great place to free camp - you just might need to
go back to 1976 though.

Another "olde" place is in Swan hill - or was about 20 years ago. Also possibly better than Wilberforce.....
Heading back thru Swan Hill next year on our way back from WA

I cannot find any information about the Monsieur Kerr of Wilberforce depicted in that picture on redbubble that you posted though Gary. Richmond and Windsor have interesting historic buildings too some still in use. The Macquarie Arms Hotel in Windsor claims it is the oldest pub in Australia. Though there is some disagreement about this from other pubs and hotels.

Hidden treasures, huh? And to answer the question "where have I been?"... too many I shouldn't have. Anyway, it sounds like Windsor, Richmond, and those places are well worth a visit. Funny how you sometimes miss what's right under your nose. Thanks for all the info and comments, folks.
