Hi all. Some of you may have noticed I've been missing action.
After breaking my ankle 8 weeks ago, I then got the call from the hospital for my surgery, which was done on November 22nd.
As you may remember, I've suffered badly in the last 2 years particularly, with Ulcerative Colitis. So they've taken all my large intestine and I have a stoma and Ileostomy bag for the time being. This is the first of 3 stages towards having a 'new' bowel system.
I came out of hospital on Monday the 1st, and staying with my cousin and her partner, who are both retired AIN's. So I'm being well looked after.
The GN's I'm friends with on Facebook know all this, but I thought I'd also share with my non-facebook GN friends.
I'm feeling weak as a puppy at the moment, and it's a 4-6 week recovery time, and there'll be more surgery sometime next year. So no nomadding for me for awhile.

Gee whiz Beth. I wondered where you had gotten to. Thought you might be out and about. Glad you're in good hands for your recovery. Hope you have a minimal amount of Surgery to come.
Take care,
Cheers,
Sheba.

You are looking fantastic Beth, even if you still feel a bit weak. Only time will mend, take it easy and put those feet up.

Hi Beth, wishing you a speedy and complete recovery. I've seen first hand the effects of this condition as my nephew's wife has it as well. She is now in her early 30s and has three children, the last was born almost six years ago while she was being treated with a new drug and there were concerns about the effects on the unborn bub, but all turned out well.
Cheers
Joe

Yes, it's been quite a year Rocket. Roll on 2015 I say!
It's now 4 weeks since surgery and I'm feeling a lot stronger. Just in time for Xmas thank goodness.
And I've lost 11 kg in the bargain. Partly from trying before surgery and partly because of surgery.
I'm now in my caravan at my sisters at Tin Can Bay, where I'll be staying for the next few weeks.
Thanks Rocket. And I hope you & Strop & and your family have a wonderful Xmas/New Year.
