I'd Go for some thing that is a bit more Power and has the ability to shed Heat...
- I think If you ran that at near full load it will burn out real quick.... Have a MELT down..

SnowT is spot on with his advice, I use a 180w pure sine wave inverter over the last 4 years and no worries
The other thing is I would advise you find another outlet like jaycar or Dicksmiths the company you mentioned has a quite poor reputation for customer service and product quality.

Hi russue;
I used to have a Vast receiver that i had for a couple of years and it worked fine of a little 300 Watt 12 Volt to 240 Volt inverter total draw off 12 Volts worked out to be about 1.2 ~1.5 Amps from the battery. Early this year l sold it on E bay and purchesed a 12 Volt version ( it also came with a 240/ 12 power supply ). Worked fine and so far so good. But wait ....there is more ????
There are now on the market 24" LCD television with a Vast certified satilight receiver built in. This unit IS a 12 Volt only unit ( and comes with it's own power supply for 240 Volt operation ). There is also a 32" version but that unit is 240 Volt only !!
While l'm not trying to sell you a new set ????? but just giving you food for thought !!

Russ and Sue
I run 2 sat boxes plus the 22 inch TV of our 180 watt inverter and have no problems. The inverter is a powertech from jaycar and fits in the same cupboard that has the tv wall plate inside.

Thanks for that Frank.
On another forum people have them and they say it works well, we have 12 volt TV, so would just need it to plug in the standard foxtel box when free camping.
One of the comments,
It's a universal socket so any Aus plug will fit in it
I use one and they're great for low power appliances like Vast or Foxtel

That means that the power consumption of the box is only about 15 W or slightly more. A 75 W inverter like the one the OP is suggesting would be more than adequate.
Russue what is the power consumption of your sat receiver? If it's not over 60 W (or the TV plus receiver is not over 60 W) then that inverter will be OK.

Peter,
The TV about 40 watts, have 2 x12 volt connections behind TV will use one for TV and one for Foxtel box with inverter, should be ok.
Has anybody used this for converting 12 volt to 240 when free camping for Sat Pay TV.
