possibly already covered but unable to find any information, my wife and I are about to started and extended discovery of Australia starting from Broome and would like to know how other travellers receive their mail, we don't know where we are heading or for how long we will be in one place, any advise would be very much appreciate. We have a PO Box and one of the kids regularly checks and empties it. He calls us about anything that looks important (vehicle rego for example) and he sometimes scans stuff and emails it to us. Mostly he just accumulates it until he reckons there's enough to fill the pre-paid post bags we bought which he sends to the post office of the next town we expect to visit where we pick it up. Works a treat.

I use my daughters address for postal address and have supplied her with "Express Post" envelopes so she can send to me after I tell her where. Just did my first mail out with her, so see how it goes.

Like Dougwe, we use sister's address, she opens mail and decides what needs to be done. If a "bill" details sent by email with bpay details etc. She has express post envelopes which get sent when required to whatever post office I nominate. Pay approximately $60.00 for pack of ten envelopes (includes postage), they last about 18 months, depending on how much mail I receive.
Have been doing this for past 3 1/2 years, only one lot got missed (at Roxby Downs) but arrived back at home address in due course.

I use my daughters address. When bill comes in which are only the vehicle ones eg rego, RACV etc. She takes a photo of the area where the BPay numbers are and amounts etc. Txts it to me, its there when I need to pay it on the due date.

I don't have any family to carry out this service but a friend has been forwarding mine when I am away, although she can and has occassionally forgotten or put the envelope down and it has fast become buried under a mound of her paperwork, a bit dangerous in case something important goes missing methinks, but the mail forwarding mobs are very expensive if one only needs 2-4 letters a month forwarded I feel.
Also, I seem to recall that mail sent to Post Offices should include some way of inentifying you...ie drivers license no. printed on it???? Is this required?

No you don't need drivers license # on the mail Pawsoz, but you need to show it for identification to collect mail from a post office.
We found it better to have mail sent to a PO rather than a caravan park, as sometimes it doesn't get there when expected and you might have to move on without waiting for it. A post Office will always redirect your mail, but its not wise to depend on busy caravan park staff.

Make sure you have your mail redirected for longer than you think you'll need.
After moving home one year we had it redirected for 6 months.
Found out 3 years later that the car wasn't insured - the renewal came after that 6 months was up & was returned to sender.
