Recommendations please for a sturdy, well, the best awning we could buy for our Winnrbago Freewind 2007.
We lost the original Fiama a few days ago in a storm. We were thinking Motorised but some have advised against.
We are travelling to Longreach then Emerald back to Mackay and then onto Airlie Beach (our home) for Christmas before heading south in the New Year. Hoping to have awning before Christmas. If we can source one from any of towns mentioned we would wait around while it was installed.

We have an Aussie Traveller Sunburst Eclipse and it's great. Easy to put out and take down and pretty strong. We also have the Aussie Traveler anti-flap kit with extra rafters. Their head office and factory is at Clontarf just north of Brisbane although they have agents all over the place - give them a call if you're interested they provide great customer service.
Regards
Dave

Thanks Dave
Shall take on board your advice. We are in the outback and have to get to a major town to organise a replacement.

Are you insured? If so leave it to the Ins Co to arrange replacement.

Yes insured. They have left it up to us to source replacement. Just have to get a quote but they want us to pay excess first.

Hi Alan and Helen
We also have a Winnebago and about 8 weeks ago we had our awning re-skinned by Aussie traveller from Clontarf , they do a fantastic job
We also got the anti-flapper with extra rafters and they are great. We were in Yamba a few weeks ago at the fishing haven caravan park when a big
storm hit .The truck shook and shook (winnebago Longreach)from the wind but the awning didn't move and it was too late to take the awning down. We also had
the privacy screen erected which helped stabilise the whole unit and with all the bungie straps attached to the unit it was as solid as.
Cheers,
Blues Man.

Thanks Blues Man
Sounds perfect.
We wont be down that way though so it will be Mackay hopefully.
I would like a Privacy Screen so this time it will be done right.
