Gooday fellow life enjoyers, we want to do the dam run in southern QLD next year and I was trying to work out a plan on a map, has anyone got any tips and ideas? We usually just blunder along and work out a plan as we go but this time I was going to be really organised, Ha

We sort of loosely plan where we are thinking of going but nearly always change things.
There are just too many interesting places to see so, sticking to a rigid plan will mean you could miss out on seeing something really good that is in the other direction.
just some thoughts

Can I ask, What's a Dam Run?? Is it something like a Pub Crawl?
Never thought of doing a planned one.

My only plan is no plan, then I don't have to change it.
Hope you work out a good way of doing your dam run Dave.

It depends if you are just sight seeing or serious "Red Claw" catching. Last year, this time, a few of us started at Bjelke Petersen, moved up to Boondooma, then Waruma & finally Boynedale Bush camp which is the back of Awonga. We head to Boondooma again this Friday- if nothing there B-P. is next.

Thanks Oma, not a serious catcher of anything, more of a looker for nice camping spots, I was talking to a friend yesterday and he went to a heap of dams, I was looking for tips on which dams were the more caravan friendly.

All friendly as well as being powered or upowered. Bjelke- Petersen & Boondooma have unpowered at the water front with powered on terraced sites. Wuruma further nth only has flush toilets but plenty of parking at water edge. Boynedale Bush camp also a great spot with only very clean pit toilets but nothing else. The last 2 are free. There is also Boroma which we have not stayed at.
