I usually leave all the filters off and look at the area I want, if I cant find a town I put it in the search box and find the town I want, put the pin on it then go back and remove the town from the filter. This is very useful app I use it in conjunction with our camps book.

When you say it works with Sygic, what do you mean. I have both but they work indendantly. It would be great if they could integrate

Thanks Dave, will try that then..
Poppy, Cowboy uses an Android, I think it marries up to that somehow, but mine is on a Windows 8.1 tablet. He can let you know what he does though, I am not sure.

I have also downloaded Wiki camps plus Sygic to my Android tablet and also would like some pointers as to how to get the best from it.
I will try and do what Diggings as said and remove all filters as a starting point.

whilst I have iPad and Win 8.1 laptop and use WikiCamps successfully on both, I do know from what friends have told me, there are some tablets (possibly the less expensive ones) that do not have location services included and this limits some of the functionality of the program. If you have problems with the maps, you may wish to check this out .......... otherwise, great app and you don't need to kill any rainforests getting it.
cheers

One of the great things about WikiCamps (and any other app that you need to format to start using, such as setting up your favourites etc. on WikiCamps - I screw this up so much I can never get it back to the default) With the iPad you can just delete the program from your device and then download it again from the App Store and start again with the default setup without having to pay for it again. When I screw up anything, that's how I get a 2nd, 3rd and 4th try at getting it right! Not sure if same system on the Windows system. So, if you are on the Apple system, don't be afraid to delete and reinstall. Also - I have grandkids here for several school holidays during the year and have games and activities on the iPad for them ...... I download at the beginning of the holidays ...... delete at the end! They are always there just waiting to re-download if and when you need them again. This goes for all apps you download from the Apple App Store I was amazed at the number of people who were not aware of this.
Not sure what this Sygic is ...... googled it but too technical for me as someone who has never even been exposed to the "On" button on an Android system. Perhaps it is a work-around for the location services????? Would be interested if anyone knows this as I have a couple of friends who when I last saw them were very disillusioned about the location services issue.
And Vic - thanks for your post

Thanks for the heads up on the reload for Ipad Chaslib, interesting!
The Wiki owner or mod on the Wikicamps forum is very helpful with problems and does look into them, some feedback on problems there also.
